What this site collects, where it goes, and how to have it removed. It is short because the site collects little.

In effect from 27 September 2026

The short version

You can look around this entire site without telling it anything about yourself. The only point at which it asks for personal details is the enquiry form at the end of the curated flow, and it asks for as little as it can.

Nothing here is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics.

What you give the enquiry form

When you ask to talk to the advisor, the form records:

  • Your email address, which is the only field the form requires.
  • Your name, if you give it.
  • How many people are travelling, roughly when, and how long for.
  • Anything you write in the notes — say only what you would say to an advisor on the phone.
  • Which journey was put in front of you, and the others on that shortlist.

It is used to answer you, to plan the trip you asked about, and for nothing else.

What the site records on its own

The site keeps a count of how its pages are used — which page was viewed, which of the two controls was clicked, and any campaign tags in the link you arrived by. This is the site's own measurement: the events go to this site's own database and nowhere else.

To tell one visit from another it stores a random identifier in your browser's local storage. It is a random string, it is not linked to you unless you send an enquiry, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

This site sets no cookies.

Who else sees it

Three companies are involved in running this practice, and each sees the part it needs:

  • Fora Travel — The host travel agency this advisory practice works through. When you continue to their intake form, the details you give go to them directly, and your enquiry is recorded in their client system.
  • Railway — Hosting and the database where enquiries are stored, in the United States.
  • Resend — Sends the confirmation email you receive and the notification the advisor receives.

Details may also be shared with the specific suppliers of a trip you decide to book — the hotel, lodge or operator — because a booking cannot be made without them. That only happens once you have asked for a booking to be made.

Information may be disclosed if the law requires it. Otherwise, it stays between you, the advisor, and the companies above.

Where it is kept, and for how long

The database is hosted in the United States. If you are writing from elsewhere, your details are stored and handled there.

Enquiries are kept while there is a conversation to have and afterwards as an ordinary business record, so that a trip planned two years ago can still be looked up. They are not kept indefinitely for no reason, and they are removed on request.

Email you receive

Sending an enquiry produces one confirmation email, and the advisor will reply to you personally. Any email of that kind carries a link to manage what you receive, and unsubscribing stops the non-essential ones without ending the conversation you started.

Asking for your information, or its removal

Write to hello@hobokentravel.com and ask. You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted — there is no form to fill in and no charge, and the request is honoured whoever and wherever you are.

One limit worth stating plainly: if your details have already gone to Fora Travel or to a supplier for a trip you asked to book, their own records are theirs, and a request to them may be needed as well. The reply will say so.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning travel, and information is not knowingly collected from children. If a child has sent something through the form, write to the address above and it will be deleted.

Changes, and who to ask

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what is collected or who receives it will be described here rather than slipped in.

This site is operated by Chris Maloy, doing business as Hoboken Travel. Anything you want to ask about privacy goes to hello@hobokentravel.com, and it reaches a person.
